OTL502-Learning Theories and                      Models of Instruction

Understanding the meaning of a school-parent compact in the true sense is a necessity for a school leader. The foundational function of this compact is for schools that receive funds for Title I through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). This is an agreement between parents and the school for children participating in Title I services. Our elementary is a Title I school are high school is not. I hope to work with our elementary school leaders in how they develop their School-Parent Compact but at this time do not know the particulars.

However, I do know that we use our Booster Club in many facets. One would be the booster club board of directors serves as an advisory committee to the athletic director. We have developed a student-parent-school agreement that we use for all programs. It outlines the responsibilities of athletics and their associated teams, the responsibilities of the student-athlete, and the responsibilities of the parent within our athletic teams. This agreement is signed by all parties involved the coach, the player, and the parent. It has paid dividends when it comes to expectations of our students, parents, and programs outlining the expectations of each and who may not be fulfilling their responsibilities.
