We survey our parents every chance we get. Especially during COVID-19. With all of the surveys that we put out, I cannot recall interest survey’s and I immediately question why. Why would we not find out what areas of expertise some of our parents have? Do we have professionals in our school community that can offer insight into the various topics we cover in class? Do we have event planners that plan things for a living? Can we better utilize the strengths of our parents to better all of our students? Are we as a school or better yet our students missing some very valuable tools within our own community? The answer is a glaring yes.

Specifically, within the athletic department. What kind of former athletes or current athletes can offer a wealth of experience in training, competition, and technique? Can we put together an interest survey that encompasses activities and athletics to put together more effective programming for our students? I think that using a parent interest survey will provide many more opportunities for our students and at the same time build the confidence in our school from our parents and community.
